Another close loss for BC, this time at Florida State

Michael Snaer scored 21 points to lead Florida State to a 69-66 victory over Boston College on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla.
Olivier Hanlan scored 19 points for BC (11-14, 3-9), while Ryan Anderson had 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Eagles rallied late and had a chance to tie at the buzzer, but Anderson’s 3-point try bounced off the rim.
The Seminoles (14-11, 6-6) led by as much as 12 in the first half before settling for a 31-26 halftime lead. BC took a 45-42 lead after a Patrick Heckmann 3-pointer with just over 13 minutes remaining, but FSU responded with a 12-2 run and never trailed again.
The margin was seven with just over two minutes left when Joe Rahon hit a 3-pointer to start BC’s final push. After four free throws for each team, Lonnie Jackson hit a layup with six seconds left to make it a two-point game.
Terry Whisnant II hit 1-of-2 free with five seconds left to up FSU’s lead to three, and Anderson’s attempt to tie it bounced off the front rim, giving BC’s its sixth ACC loss by five points or less.
The Eagles next host Maryland on Tuesday.
