Freshman guard Joe Rahon scored 26 points and Boston College squandered a huge lead but held on for a 75-68 victory over Clemson on Saturday afternoon at Conte Forum.
Rahon hit 9-of-12 shots, including 6-of-7 3-pointers, in recording the most points by an ACC freshman this season. Also for BC (10-11, 2-6 ACC), Lonnie Jackson had 14 points and six assists, and Ryan Anderson contributed 12 points.
Devin Booker had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Clemson (12-9, 4-5).
The Eagles led by 20 points, 57-37, with 9:30 left, before Clemson rallied to get within a point, 67-66, with 1:14 left. Anderson then hit a layup for a three-point BC lead. After a missed 3-pointer by Clemson, Jackson hit 4-of-4 free throws and Rahon scored a basket to seal the win.
BC next plays at Miami on Tuesday.
