Boston College defensive end Max Holloway announced Thursday that he will declare for the NFL draft. Holloway finished fourth on the team this past season with 47 tackles (29 solo) and contributed eight tackles for loss, 2½ sacks, three pass breakups and an interception.

A product of Lutz, Fla., Holloway would have been a fifth-year senior in 2012.

“I love Boston College, and I have earned my degree,” he said in a school statement. “I’m excited about moving on to the next chapter in my life.”
