Olivier Hanlan, a highly regarded 6-foot-3 point guard from Canada who is prepping at New Hampton in New Hampshire, gave a verbal commitment to Boston College coach Steve Donahue Tuesday night.

A native of Gatineau, Quebec, Hanlan also reportedly was considering Virginia, Dayton and Rice.

“I just really liked my visit. I felt really comfortable with all the coaches, especially with coach Donahue,” Hanlan told ESPN. “They’ve been recruiting me since last winter, and when I sat down with my family to think about it, that’s what it came down to, that and the style of play. Even my old coach from Canada was saying the style of play would fit me perfectly.”

Last week, BC got a verbal commitment from another point guard, 6-1 Joe Rahon of San Diego’s Torrey Pines High School.
