According to an ESPN report over the weekend, Evan Ravenel became the latest BC basketball player to ask for and be granted his release. Ravenel, a 6-foot-8 forward, joins Rakim Sanders and newcomer Brady Heslip as players headed out of town following Al Skinner’s departure.
Ravenel averaged 3.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per game last season, his second with the Eagles.
Meanwhile, recruit Kevin Noreen, a 6-10, 220-pounder who averaged 38.2 points and 16 rebounds in his Minnesota prep career, reportedly has 20 scholarship offers since getting his release from the Eagles. He’s set to visit Oklahoma this week. There was some speculation that North Carolina might be interested after 6-10 twins Travis and David Wear announced plans to transfer after one season in Chapel Hill, although there is nothing to substantiate that.
