Here are the highlights from the press conference with BC coach Al Skinner after his team’s 68-62 loss to Virginia in the first round of the ACC tournament Thursday in Greensboro, N.C.

On his team’s play after cutting the lead to 49-46

“On the defensive end we just did not maintain our concentration. We let guys kind of get away from us. When you are in that situation you have to make sure that your execution on both ends of the floor is proper and it wasn’t what we needed it to be. Now, Scott made a tough turnaround shot which you have to deal with. But we gave up a number of open looks and that means we were not as alert as we needed to be on the defensive end.”

On the end-of-game lineup minus Joe Trapani and Reggie Jackson

“Joe was struggling a little bit today, for whatever reason. I thought that Reggie was maybe a little bit tired because he had played a lot and because Virginia was running around, sprinting around, and he maybe exerted a lot of energy. So that is pretty much the reason for that change.”

On the lack of offensive execution from his team

“The other thing is, when you look at our club and we only get nine assists for a game — that is not our club, we usually get that in a half. That means that the ball is not moving and we are not making good decisions on the offensive end.”

On the frustration of this season

“I am a little disappointed in this year’s club. There are a number of different reasons for it. We had some injuries throughout the season, there were some lineup changes. A lot of inconsistencies throughout the year. And so we just weren’t able to bring about any consistency in our club. I’ve always been able to have some stability within my team and there wasn’t enough of that this year for a number of different reasons. Some due to injuries, some due to matchups and just trying to improve play. So hopefully it is just one of those years. I think potential is a terrible word for coaches. I think this team has potential, but I have to help make it work and get with them to coordinate that. The biggest thing is hopefully we can stay healthier next year because we have all these guys returning so if we can stay healthy I think we can improve on this year.”

On his team’s up-and-down play

“There are time that we played some great basketball, when we fought and did the things that we had to do. But we weren’t able to always sustain it and I think if we have learned nothing else from this year, with these guys returning next year, is to develop a little bit more mental toughness to sustain it. And I’m talking about throughout the season. There were game that we had it when we fought and did what we have to, but its got to happen from game to game to game throughout the season. We weren’t able to maintain that throughout the season; we had it at times but for whatever reason we weren’t able to maintain it. And hopefully, if we learn nothing else from this year, it is what it is going to take for us. … I thought we understood that, we knew that, but it didn’t happen. Tyler Roche is our only senior; I think he did a tremendous job for us. From where he came as a freshman to where he is now and the contributions that he made and his stick-to-it attitude — if this team learns nothing else, if it can take that away from him then we have the potential to be a much improved club.

My developer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on numerous websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
