If your last name is Flutie and you play football for Boston College, you have a lot to live up to.

Billy Flutie, the junior wideout for the Eagles and nephew of Boston luminary Doug Flutie, just took his first step into the BC record books with his first career touchdown reception. Flutie crossed the middle of the field and climbed the ladder to bring down a rocket out of the arm of quarterback Dave Shinskie and stumbled into the end zone for the 26-yard score. So far Flutie has two receptions for 33 yards.

The defense also got into the scoring act early in the third after yet another Ryan Quigley punt ended up on the the Northeastern 2 yard line. It took the Eagles three plays but they buried the Huskies in the end zone for the safety to make the score a nifty 40-0.

An update on the ongoing Eagles quarterback question. Shinskie and Justin Tuggle both went 3-5 in passing attempts in the first half and have split time equally in the third quarter. Each has now thrown for a touchdown as well. If they keep on at this rate it seems that head coach Frank Spaziani is going to have a tough time separating them on the depth chart.

True freshman Mike Marscovetra has just made his first appearance on the field at quarterback around the 2:00 minute mark in the third.

Injury updates:

Boston College redshirt freshman free safety Okechukwu Okoroha went down making a play on the scrambling Northeastern quarterback Matt Carroll. He has been taken to the locker room to be evaluated with a neck injury.

Senior receiver Clarence Megwa has a left hand injury and his return is questionable.

Northeastern starting quarterback Alex Dulski went down in the first half after a hard hit by senior strong safety Marcellus Bowman. He was replaced by Carrol.
